Lillian Robinson Welch was born on July 13, 1925, to Joe and Arcadia Gainey Robinson, in Brooker, FL. She was educated in Alachua County Schools.
Lillian was married to Joseph W. Welch and together they raised their son, Rodney R. Welch. She was an expert seamstress, making suits for her husband who was a teacher in Alachua County. She also loved to cook and hosted many dinners at her house for extended family. She loved to try different recipes, so you never knew what would be on the menu; but she would say “Try it and see if you like it.” Lillian was a retired Domestic Worker for the Wallace and Kirkpatrick family, and other friends/families of theirs. Later she worked for Comfort Keepers as an In-Home Caregiver. She also cared for several of her siblings in their later years.
On Thursday, November 2, 2023, Lillian peacefully transitioned from this life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Arcadia Gainey Robinson, her former husband/companion Joseph W. Welch and sisters: Erma L. Daniels, Edith C. Brewer, Marzella R. Scott and Eunice R. Acosta; brothers: Richard N. (RN) Robinson and Andy Robinson.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her son Rodney, nieces, and nephews: Ceanus H. Brazil (Ike), Diane A. Nelson, Tony Tomlin (Kathy), Cynthia R. Walker, Priscilla R. Lewis, Angela A. Scott (Irvin) and Arago Welch Sr. (Cathy), and a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins.
