Ronald "Ronnie West" Whitten

Ronald West Whitten, known locally as radio personality "Ronnie West" died at his home near Chiefland on March 27th, 2023, after a lengthy illness. He is survived by adult children, Anson Gabriel Whitten of Newberry; Stephanie Kitrina Whitten of Tampa, FL; Elizabeth Whitten Dixon of Collinsville, Tx.; Brittany Kathleen Whitten of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; and by grandchildren, Hunter and Archer Whitten, and Bryce and Gage Dillon.

Born July 26, 1955, to USMC Chesley Whitten and Alma Wilson Whitten, Mr. Whitten lived most of his life in Florida and was a lover of nature and the outdoors. He attended Forest Lake Academy in Seminole County, Fl., and worked as an officer at both the Levy County Jail and Marion Correctional Institute.
