William Grant Sr.

William L. Grant Sr., 58, transitioned on Sunday, June 11th, 2023. Those who knew him called him “Herman” (AKA Herman the Monster). William was known for his jokes and sense of humor. Mr. Grant was a native of Jennings, Florida and resided in Gainesville, FL throughout most of his life.

William was born on February 21st , 1965 to the late Reverend Willie Clarence Lock and Ms. Juanita Webb. William attended Gainesville High School and enjoyed football, fishing, and spending time with family. With William being skilled at using hands, he enjoyed the profession of catering.

William leaves behind a son, Dr. William L. Grant Jr., a friend and mother of his son, Tammy Williams, his father’s wife, Mary Ann Lock, two brothers, Aaron Grant Sr. (Priscilla) and Eric Lock, six sisters, Jackie Lester (Leon), Brenda Grant, Carolyn Grant, Sandra D. Gandy (Esau), Cacynthia Lock, Cheryl Lock, special niece and nephew, Shameka and Marlon Bannister, three aunts, Lula Mae Thomas (Charlie), Annie Brown (Alonzo), Mary Ware, one uncle, L.C. Strawder, his family in South Carolina, a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. William is proceeded in death by his stepfather, Aaron Grant Sr.

William was loved by many and will be truly missed.
